Model Update
« on: October 20, 2019, 01:39:04 pm »
Earlier this year I pondered as to what else Mazda might add to the specification of my new “6” to induce me to replace it.  Well, the following are now available on the new CX-30 and these, presumably, will migrate to other models in due course:

AWD
Mild Hybrid system
Skyactiv X petrol engine
Stop and Go/Traffic Support
Front Cross Traffic Alert
Power liftgate
5-year map updates
e-call with GPS

It does not feel like there will be another revision of the 6. It is already 7 years old.

The first generation ran for 6 years 2002-2008.

The second generation ran for 5 years 2007-2012.

The third generation is already on the market since 2012.

The new car may be bigger than the current one to compete with the Stinger.

The most important feature available in any car nowadays is the monthly repayment. The rest just follows. Nobody pays cash to buy something like a car and so all the features of the world, will mean nothing without an affordable monthly repayment.

Whatever they introduce, it will have all the available extras as the smaller cars.
