2018 Mazda 6 Sport Nav 2.2 Diesel
« on: October 13, 2019, 08:00:45 pm »
Hello All,

I purchased an ex demo, 2018 Mazda 6, in Soul Red.  Got it a few weeks ago.  This is my 3rd Mazda.

I'm in Ireland and I bought the car despite the engine having a poor reputation here, due to the rising oil levels.

I still bought the car as I love the looks and always found Mazda to be reliable, well apart from the RX8!!!

Car had 5,000 miles on the clock, so hoping to keep for a long time and look after her for years to come.

Thanks for reading.

Good luck with your new car, I hope you enjoy it.

I read a fair bit around so-called problems with diesel engines before I bought mine, but in over 8 years and 100,000 miles I had no issues whatsoever.  I discussed this with my mechanic, a specialist Mazda independent, and his verdict was that so long as the car was correctly maintained then the engine would be fine - just stick to the correct oil and service intervals and you should go well.
