75,000 Mile service Mazda 6 2.2 diesel (2012)
« on: January 22, 2018, 10:49:56 am »
I have a Mazda 6 2.2D sport hatchback 2nd gen (2012) and it's coming up to it's 75000 mile service.

I've noticed that the service cost from a Mazda deal for the 62500 service was £180 and the 75,000 service is £400

Just wondering if anyone knows the reason for the difference in price?
Is there something specific done as the 75,000 (6th year) service

I normally go to an independent garage for servicing now and wanted to make sure they do the same as the Mazda dealer.

From what I have seen the 75000 mile service is a big one and they do some extra work on the engine
which adds to the cost. The service book should give you a list of what is covered in each type of service.
If in doubt ring the main dealer and ask them.

My Mazda didn't come with a traditional service book as they record all the servicing in the digital service record. The manual I got with the car don't mention the items covered for the various services, which i have had with other cars in the past.

I had read a few posts talking about injectors and valve clearances but that seems to apply to the 1st gen mazda 6 and the costs quoted of £700 - £1200 are way over the £400 I'm seeing here.

Looks like I may have to call the main dealer and see if they can fill me in.

I have the same car with the 2.0 diesel engine and in the owner's manual there is a table with the maintenance schedule. There is something about the injectors mentioned in older posts.

I just rang my local dealer asking for the price. Although mine is only now approaching 69k,its always good to know in advance.

Hopefully the attachment should appear/work. They quoted £650 but didn't mention time scale

Spoke to my normal garage today about this. His autodata listed the same parts to be changed. He said unless the injectors are leaking to not touch them.

Obviously if others still wanna pay Mazda to do the full work they can its upto them

I think the PDF covers less work than the post above. From the PDF, I think you have to do the valve clearance. That is why you replace the rocker cover gasket.

No1 reason for failure for these engines is the oil. The leaking injectors help to destroy the oil and then the engine. If there is a single work you should do for this service, is the injections seals.

Save money by changing the air and pollen filter by yourself and pay for the injector seals.

If the injectors are visibly leaking, it is too late.
