2015 Sport Nav diesel auto (facelift version).

When the outside temp goes down to 4 degrees I hear one single bong/chime inside the car, but  definitely get no warning message nor 'flashing ice' icon on the dash.  Is this normal, or is there a setting somewhere disabled?

My OH's new Mazda 3 gives the same bong but also displays a warning message, which you need to press info up or down to dismiss,

I have a 2013 Sport Nav (pre facelift). When the temperature drops I get the single chime plus a warning "Potential Icy Road Condition" in the display next to the speedo. I normally keep this display set to remaining range but it changes when the warning shows. I then press info as you do to dismiss

Mine does the same at 4 degrees with a " bong" and a little flashing ice sign for a while.!
Does it on frosty morning at startup as well.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll have a better read at the manual over the next few days but it seems strange to give a warning bong without any feedback to what it's warning me about.

I only seem to get a bong as well on my facelift. As said above, the prefacelif5t computer display gave an ice warning which you had to clear.

The owners manual says I should get a message, but mine doesn't.  However I noticed the other day that if I go to Apps>Warnings...there's a yellow warning triangle against it, and when selected, it warns me about the low temp.

That's a fat lot of good isn't it - I must admit in the 10 days I've had my car I have heard a number of apparently random boings and given that I'm a little bit hard of hearing its not at all easy to tell if these have come from a specific piece of equipment or just from the speakers - I'm assuming the latter. However, as I think others are implying, a boing by itself is of little use without some other indication (and not just a yellow triangle) of what the warning is about - my Volvo used to put a message up.

I agree. Our Mazda 3 gives the same bong but also displays a warning on the dash (as per what the owners manual says the 6 should do).
