Airbag fault

Hi everyone I have an airbag fault on my Mazda 6 the light flashes once then eight times meaning the code is 18 I have just noticed when I turn the car on the light above cig lighter doesn't come on can the bulb in this cause the fault any help would be great.The light I'm talking about is just below the aircon controls on front console

A quick Google suggests that this is a standard code which indicates that the passenger airbag is deactivated in which case you need to get it checked out by a competent Mazda or independent service facility.

Many thanks this is the 2nd fault I've had on the car and only had it two months 1st one was a passenger seat occupancy sensor and now this one

Got the fault fixed turns out a faulty bulb in center console was the problem and setting off the airbag light
