when you say daylight running lights next, did you mean getting rid of the headlights being on all the time or fitting some led type ones?

as mine is the model that runs with the lights on all the time I went into my local Mazda dealer and they said they can wire it so they only come on, on auto, so off is actually off! still waiting on the cost tho  ::)
the plan was to add a strip of LED day running lights somewhere near the front fogs, not sure where yet.

I just bought a headlight relay today from Mazda to disable the day running lights, its the relay from the year where they stopped running them, the part number is GS1E67890A the cost is approx £140 including vat, the relay is fitted behind the glove box apparently secured on a bracket with a 10mm bolt, will hopefully be doing mine the weekend if it arrives in time so will let you know how it goes and if it works!

Are you not breaking the law/MOT regulations?  As far as I am aware, if a vehicle has been fitted with DRL's (or come to that any other item covered under the MOT) as OEM, then they must work correctly to pass an MOT.

not sure but I know that many manufacturers (eg Audi) offer DLR de-activation as a no cost option at purchase

I am not sure either to be honest! maybe I should have asked that question before shelling out £140! but I suppose the same can be said for the guys who have had their DPF's removed and they passed the MOT, might be a grey area this one!

At this point can we get back onto the original topic please.

Any further posts about DRL's (Or what ever they want to be called) can go in here.

Indeed, I am sure it gets messy with posts everywhere, so anyway MAC how does the lip spoiler attach to the car? is it light enough to just be stuck on?
