Seems common. Rear brakes advice please
« on: April 10, 2017, 08:15:22 pm »
New her so hi all.  Just purchased a 55 plate Mazda 6 waggon 2.0 petrol ts2.   I found the rear right brake is very slow to release and still binds even after left for hrs.  I took the caliper off the hub  but was unable to move it in or out.  It moved out under foot peddle.  I am wondering if the hand brake is over adjusted and there for stopping the caliper retracting.  I've never had read disc brake car before.    I also found the fluid reservoir was bursting with pressure so drained some fluid off to below max level.

Am I Right In thinking handbrake is the issue or am I way off.
Cheers

Been doing loads off research.  Seems theres an alan key bolt that adjusts caliper in and out.  Possibly a 6mm.  On back off caliper.

I am still going in and out the garage with my replacement callipers. The garage says that there is no such adjustment but I have the second generation car. I am going back on Saturday to do the job together. I can let you know then. My thought is one of your callipers was replaced at some point and the other was left on. That one may now be in bad condition and does not operate properly.

This is what I told to the garage but he insists that there is no such thing in my car.

Well. What can I say
NO ALAN KEY ADJUSTER.
Hand brake was causing some off the issue.  Disconnected it.
HAND BRAKE ADJUSTER NOT BEHIND ASHTRAY.
Wound caliper in with tool and rebuilt. Foot brakes good.
Tried reconnecting hand brake.  But cables are different lengths so further investigation required.  Think I may have a v spring missing from rear brakes as only 1 fitted but have 2 spare holes for another.  Anyone know ??? Ta
