Title: Juddering at higher speeds.
Post by: Lincoln on June 09, 2018, 09:47:54 am
Hi all,

I'm the proud owner of a 3 year old Mazda 6 Sport Nav 150...i love this car.

I've had it since new and racked up a fair few miles as i use for work as a sales rep.(76000 miles).

Recently i've noticed a juddering feeling coming from the car when i'm going over 60 MPH...any idea what this could be?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Could be a warped tyre/wheel.

Does your wheels need re balancing.? Or maybe have you lost a weight from one of the wheels on the car.?
Maybe get your local Tyre house to check.?

Thats interesting...i have just had my tyres changed....i had 3 changed at Christmas the other one still had life in it so being the tight wad i am i left it until May and then fitted a different brand.

The first 3 are dunlop top of the range the 4th is a Uniroyal mid-range....that'll teach me to stop being such a penny pincher, i really didn't think i'd notice the difference.

Suggest you get them to check the wheel balancing on the car. The odd tyre should not cause a problem.
My 6 is running with three Dunlop Sport and a Nexen, due to a puncture that wrote one tyre off.
Wheels balanced and car runs fine.Worth a try before you start looking for problems in the cars running gear.

Hi

I had this exact issue years ago when my 6 2.2 was a couple of years old. As others have indicated already, when ATS checked it, they found I had lost a wheel balance weight on one of the front wheels.
10 minutes later, all fixed!
