Coolant/Thermostat issue ????
« on: May 17, 2019, 08:48:30 am »
Hi all,

Firstly, I'm starting to think that I'm the only one posting in this section.  lol

Anyway,  About a week ago I had to get the transfer box replaced.  Work was done all seemed fine.  However, I have started to notice that the engine temp is going up quickly.   The temp gage goes up to about half way and no further, but it doesn't go down as quickly as it did before.  I can leave the car and come back to it after some time and the temp gage will be above the cold mark.

Someone told me that it could be that because I've had the transfer box done the coolant pipes my not have been put back in place correctly or possibly bubbles in the coolant system.

Any clues?

It is not a very popular car but you get exclusivity! Hehehe!

You will not lose a lot to double check the pipes. Something may is not put right or one thing triggered the other and you need a thermostat.

The gage must be electronic and so it does not respond to the actual temperature to avoid scaring drivers. It will always sticks to the middle instead of going a lit bit further up when it is under load.

Maybe the weather is good enough to keep the temperatures up for longer time.
