Courtesy lights after ignition off?
« on: May 31, 2012, 08:34:51 pm »
Hi,
I have a 2011 2.2d Sport (keyless) and there's an annoying little glitch that I just wondered if anyone else had noticed.

When I stop and turn off the engine with the stop button, the interior lights don't come on. I didn't even notice it at first but after parking up in the dark a few times, you soon realise when you have to open the door to find your bits n bobs before getting out.

Is there anyway of changing this with settings somehow?  They come on when you get in and go out when the engine is started so I would imagine if it was going to work, it would the way I have it (I.e the 'Door' position on the switch)

Or, is it actually a fault that I should speak to the dealer about?

Thanks,

Si.

Check the position of the roof switch above the windscreen.

Hi P0bber,

Mine works the same way - and I agree, it's rather annoying.

I think it's a setting that can be changed - in the same way that pressing the 'start' button when the engine is running can be changed to go back to ACC rather than OFF, which is useful when you arrive somewhere still on a bluetooth call and the radio cuts out.

Should be a simple setting change when it's next on the computer at the dealership.

I was thinking about getting the start button mode changed so that the radio stays on, but then when you want to turn it all off before getting out, you have to press it again to get ignition then again to turn it off haven't you? All a bit of a faff really.

How do you get the "Start" button reprogrammed? I find it irritating when you're on bluetooth too. You'd think you should be able to put foot on the clutch like when you start it and it would go back to "Accessory" position but pressing it without the clutch would stop engine and go to full off position. Keyless entry is cool but a simple keyed entry seems to give a more logical operation.
As a sideline, why isn't there an option for "Clear water blue" for the profile on this site. I'm sure that's the colour of my 6 Sport. ???

Nat.
