Rear Body Control Module Location
« on: September 13, 2019, 12:13:45 pm »
Hi Guys, further to my earlier post regarding the Christmas tree lights on my dash, it now appears that I have a potential faulty rear body control module, and is going into Mazda next week for a diagnostic check to see whether this is a software issue or I need a new unit.

Firstly has anyone any experience with these as i cant seem to find antything on the forum, and if so do they know where it ois located on my car (Mazda 6 3rd Gen Skyactive 63 plate 2.2 diesel sport nav estate)

secondly, any ideas on price of these units?

many thanks

Googling  rear body control module returns these guys:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/14-Mazda-Rear-Body-Control-Module-Kd45-675y0g-OEM/26017009730

But as always, it will be cheaper to find the problem before buying parts.

Thanks for sharing the link for the control module. After another visit to Mazda it has now been confirmed it is the Rear Parking camera that is faulty and giving me all the electrical gremlins. Due to price from Mazda this is currently on hold, but has been disconnected from the system and everything is back up and running, except obviously the rear vie camera. To be honest its easier and cheaper to turn my head and look behind me that paying £700 for the  luxury of a fitted new one by Mazda.

Yes a bit pricey but at least now what is wrong with it and you could get some quotes for a used part. If it turns out to be cheap, it may be worthy put it right. Otherwise, as you say, you can the classical way and save some good money.
