Upgrade to satnav?
« on: March 23, 2017, 03:00:23 pm »
Hi,
I've had a quick search through the forum but couldn't find anything, apologises if it's already been covered.

I brought last month a 2014 63 plate Mazda 6 2.2 SE-L. I see the head unit and the centre console dial have Nav buttons but there is no nav installed. Ive been told it's possible to get the car reader  forc around £400 for Mazda which I thought sounded a lot  there a cheaper way?

Also it takes about 5 minutes every time I start the car for it to download the contents of my phone so I can't use it unless I dial on the phone is this normal?

Thanks in advance

Graeme

Hi yep that is about right for the phone download time on a pre facelift I had one just traded up to a 2017 model much faster than early version
As far as the Tom Tom sat nav I had that installed when purchasing the car and if you want the built in one I think that's the way you will have to go make sure you have the compartment for the SD card lower dash right of the steering column
