Hi Fellas,

My wife has purchased the lovely mazda 6 2015 2.2L diesel (australia) ... I am trying to identify how we go about resetting the ECU after each oil change.
Mazda themselves advise this can only be done through their stealerships who I wouldn't trust to cook breakfast, let alone attend to a vehicle through its life.  Plus we have our own trusted mechanic who is more than capable.

I have read of a "pedal procedure" to reset , but then I read that it is different in the most recent models and I can't seem to find out what that is.

ANy ideas?
Many thanks and apologies if this is a doubled up question.

I think this is probably the first time we have been asked about a 2015 model, Australian or not.  So all I can suggest is that you have a read through this   http://www.mazda6forums.co.uk/index.php?topic=2191.msg9053;topicseen#msg9053     and check out the links included.

Thanks for the reply .. the guy at service said he knew of the "pedal" and "grounding a pin" techniques but unfortunately I am told by even him that those old methods do not work in the 2015(2016) ('facelifted') 6 Models so I thought I'd try much luck here :(

that being said, i did just spot this in the manual, i wonder (hope) if this is the same thing???

Thoughts?

Seems like you have found the answer. Always a good thing to read the handbook  :)

This may reset the Oil change reminder , but will it reset the fuel contamination and level electronics?

Just used Free windows software from http://forscan.org/ to peform the service procedure: "PCM Reset Engine Oil Deterioration Learned Value" now the "Distance since last oil change" reads 0km on my 2013/2024 2.2d.

I ran the software on a Windows 10 laptop connected to my car with an bluetooth OBD adapter bought from ebay for less than £10.
