decal / badge removal
« on: May 30, 2013, 08:53:10 pm »
Hello,
has anyone removed the badges from rear boot?

was it easy?
i assume they are stuck on (hoping) and so cotton behind should be enough?

what about the dealer sticker?
anyone any idea on this please?

i know what my car is, and others can guess!
plus, less things for dirt to get trapped in and hard to remove. The green slime behind 3rd light and rear clusters is enough!

If its a sport then the SPORT badge is a stuck on badge that the dealer will have put on. I took mine off as it looks too Halfords for my liking.

The MAZDA 6 badge is held on with rivets so you can remove it but you will be left with two holes in the tailgate.

Thanks jb,
Removed the sport and was only stuck as you mentioned.
The 6 was also stuck on, phew.

really hope the mazda isn't riveted as that will have to stay if so.

Did you learn about rivet from experience or passed on info?

I didn't try removing the 6 but after I got rid of the SPORT badge I tried the MAZDA one. I started easing it off the tailgate but found there were two rivets holding it on so left it in place.

You could always stick the 6 back on ?
