Title: Mazda 6 2006 143 bhp lack of power no dpf light
Post by: Clyde5 on December 14, 2015, 05:41:55 pm
Hi I bought a 2006 mazda 6 143bhp a few weeks ago after smashing my old mazda 6 in a accident. Anyhow I picked the car up from London sold as seen and on my way back home I had the engine light came on as well as the car skid light I also noticed the car was lacking in power but still I could comfortably travel at 60-70 mph. But if I tried to speed up my foot to the floor and the car would very slowly increase in speed which I find odd. On returning home I have noticed that I don't get a dpf light when I 1st turn the key in the ignition  and have never seen a dpf light since. Could that mean someone  has had the ecu remapped and removed the dpf recycling program from the ecu. I tried the wire trick to force regenerate the dpf but it wouldn't regenerate. I travel a 35 mile round trip to work everyday so I'm pretty sure the dpf isn't blocked but with no light I'm not sure can anyone advise me on what to do as I don't want to go to mazda and pay their silly prices to sort out my lovely car.  P's the code I'm getting on my code reader is p242f regards Clyde

I have a similar issue. 2042 but the dpf is not blocked. I have changed pressure switch, same issue.

Didn't you mention in the other post that your code means a blocked DPF? Did you try the chemicals to clean it? It is something like Halffords advertises but you have to do it by yourself, or just pay them to drive the car with the additive and high rpm.

You can buy the inner part of the filter, send back your and refit. That is currently at £375 at car parts 4 less but you should get a 15-20% discount out of it.
