Aircon
« on: November 28, 2011, 07:41:23 pm »
Since I have had my Mazda 6 the aircon has never worked.  When I turn the aircon on the revs jump and the fan kicks in, I think I can also see the clutch pulley engage, however, the air doesnt get cooler.  I did think there was no refridgerant in the system but I always assumed there was a pressure switch on these systems that wouldnt let the system engage (ie no fan kicking in etc).  I have also noticed that my Ambient temperature sensor is giving strange reading, 72 degrees when its about 5 degrees outside.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Get it down to Kwik Fit for a regas, they won't charge if it they can't do it.  That's how I found out that my air con was knackered and had to be replaced (under warranty, thankfully)

You know you can re gas your own system, not recommended if your not sure what your doing and a air con compressor is very expensive but if you know what your doing you can save a good bit of cash, i think the kits are available on line !!! ££££ :)
