« on: August 27, 2012, 05:45:36 pm »

Well done, kinda defeats the point in having the higher powered model if fuel consumption is your priority though.

I have found the fuel computer consistently 10% optimistic. However, seen 60mpg + when stuck on the A14 doing between 50-60 mph. Well done though, I wouldn't have the patience.

Mine is a bit on the optimistic side too. I couldn't be arsed trundling about at 59 getting in everybodys way. Now get your foot down and start enjoying your car !!!  ;)

So far (on average) the trip computer on mine has been only 3.8% optimistic.  Compare that to my Mondeo which averaged 12.3% over!

It is the wind resistance in any vehicle - it increases by a huge amount once you get above the magic 56mph ..... over 80, forget economy !

I do love the 34mph per thousand revs in the new 2.2 Sport 180 ......... but it does mean that 6th is only usable above 57mph.

Much better than the 20mph/1000 on the 2.3 petrol 2005 model !
