Air Conditioning/Climate Control loses Auto setting
« on: May 07, 2018, 07:43:31 am »
I have a low mileage (25,000 miles) 2015 Mazda 6 2.2 Sport Nav Tourer. I habitually have the climate control on its Auto setting, but on 30th April - just 1 month out of warranty - it started to randomly switch the Auto setting off and crank up the fan. Pushing the Auto button on again will restore it for a while, but it then goes off again. My not-so-helpful Mazda dealer, who sold the car new and has serviced it each year says it will diagnose the problem for a fee of £107, and will ask Mazda if it will consider making a contribution to repairing whatever the issue is. Can anyone shed any light on it?

How long does the air con last for?  Is there a pattern to its behaviour?  Is it worse or better depending on colder or warmer days?

Did the dealer say if the diagnosis included plugging in an error code reader?

It may be easier to buy one of your own for a couple of pounds and download an ODB II reader onto your phone.

It's hard to help diagnose without knowing more about the symptoms.
