Advice on remap
« on: October 09, 2020, 08:20:27 am »
Hi.. new here

Just bought a Mazda 6 ts2 2012 model and I'm thinking of getting a stage 1 remap and dpf removal.. just wondering if anyone else has had this done and if they've ever experienced any complications with it?

Erm, do not do it. Just sell the thing and buy a faster car. There are so many of them. Try something like the same car in a Mondeo dress with the turbo Volvo engine.

Even with the promised remapped 200bhp, which is never 200bhp on the wheels, literally every other car will still be faster than you.

Remap and DPF removal means just unburned fuel and cancer.

Anyway, it is your money, and there are lots of companies which do this kind illegal activity for living with no bother from the government. All of them will have no come back if you have any problems as you step into the magic of modified engine.

The in-built problems of these engines is the chocolate strength timing chain that needs replacement on every other year. I suppose the extra power will not make any real difference to it as it is already defective.

Remap by all means but leave the DPF alone, you could end up with a huge bill but besides that removal of the DPF would be as much as a grain of sand in the Sahara because Russia, India, China and many other countries don't give a s**t about pollution! How many thousands of oil tankers, cargo ships, cruise ships and many others, millions of diesel trains all over the world.

You cannot police the whole world. It is left to the morals of each individual to act sensible for both the personal benefit and the social good.

You can remap, delete DPF/EGR, correct the mileage, it is all legally done by VAT registered companies but whether it should be done, is another story.

The whole point is to go beyond the regulations and do your best not because it is on the regulation but because it is the right thing. Yes of course transport causes pollution but then it transports goods the consumerisms needs to keep the economy going.

There is an ongoing pandemic and people were told to act a bit sensibly and stop buying stuff and everybody went over the top, let aside that the whole finance unsustainable economy collapsed.
