Sat nav phone connection
« on: November 24, 2017, 06:05:29 am »
All,

Recently my blue tooth phone connection has stopped working.
I've a 2014 6 estate model and the phone part of the sat nav is unresponsive.
I'm thinking of using that old IT fix and switching it off and on again to reboot.

Is there anything I should be aware of before I disconnect the battery?

Thanks in advance

Simon

I'm not aware of any major problems disconnecting the battery, but you'll lose the auto windows.  To reset - close the window and hold the UP button for about 5 secs after the window is up, repeat with DOWN.  You might also lose the radio favourites.

Try un-pairing the phone from the car, and delete the car from your phone... and re-pair again.  Worth a try before disconnecting the battery.

Thanks for that Tall333

I'll give it a go this weekend.
I'll have to go straight to disconnect as the phone element of the sat nav is just dead.

Regards

Simon

Before you do that what about trying the reset on the main menues of the sat nav and phone then disconnect phone from car and then car from phone then reconnect after reset also you will lose your memory setting but try taking SD card out of holder while engine is running wait 20/30 seconds thenput back in then switch off and then restart that's how i use to get my tom tom settings going again but the phone connection and contacts was always slow on the tom tom system all revised on the facelift ect worth a try

Thanks Steve,

I'll give it a try, but now I'm going to show my real lack of understanding when it comes to all things Sat Nav.
Where is the SD card located?

Simon

RHS of dash, under the traction control etc switches there's a slot.  Slide the slot cover to the side then press the card to eject.
