If wheel nuts are tightened to  torque  specifications they should not come loose I would take it up with the garage that sold you  the car.

Wheels/Tyres / How long would it take for wheel nuts to come loose?
« Last Post by Pezza187 on June 20, 2021, 11:03:33 am »
Hi all,
I had a very lucky escape the other day! I brought a Mazda 6 2.2L sport Nav 66 plate on the 18th May 2021, it had 59200 miles on the clock. I was driving down the motorway on the 18th June 2021 when I began to hear a knock which got worse so I decided to pull off the motorway, which probably saved my life because the front passenger wheel fell off!
When the recovery arrived (RAC) they said they would need to take a wheel nut off each of the back tyres to secure the wheel to get me home. When he checked the other tyres he actually found that all the wheel nuts on the rear two tyres were also loose but the front drivers side wheel was absolutely fine. When I brought the car that wheel was changed because it had a chunk missing in the side wall. They also gave me a Pre-sale Inspection sheet which says the wheel nuts were all checked.
I was wondering what you guys think???
Is it even possible for them to come loose that soon, I have done 60600 miles now so it’s only done 1300 miles more.
Please help!

General Discussion / Re: Attachments and Pictures
« Last Post by Willpower on June 10, 2021, 02:19:26 pm »
Once again I am having to post this request

I have received information that the attachments folder has exceeded it's preset limit and that no more attachments will be allowed.

This is because members are attaching pictures as PDF files  instead of  JPG  files

Because of this I have no alternative but to cull all the PDF files of images in the attachment folder.

If you wish to add a picture to your post, please follow the instructions given above and do not use PDF's as a way to add a picture.

Henceforth any pictures that have been added AS PDF's  will be removed with no warning.

Thank you

Bodywork / Re: Water in boot well
« Last Post by Jimthelob on June 10, 2021, 07:53:51 am »
Update!!

The leak reappeared. I discovered the boot lid had sprung up in the top corners and was not making contact with the rubber seal. Probably my own fault as I regularly over fill the boot.
The hinges are very flimsy and I couldn’t find way to adjust other than physically pulling & pulling the boot lid.
I did find some specifications: see attachment.
Hope this helps someone as it was driving me mad!

You wouldn't think so going by the apparent lack of activity. But yes it is.

A quick hello. Just bought myself a 2014 Mazda 6 2.2D Sport Nav. Picked it up from the dealer 3 weeks ago.

Not have many mods planned as yet but I'm sure you lovely people will plant some seeds soon enough.

Standard UK Sport spec but missing the lane change and adaptive cruise, everything else is on board I think?

A picture of the thing from the forecourt.
