Rear windscreen takes ages to defrost

The rear windscreen seems to take ages to defrost. The  car also takes ages to demist anybody else with similar problems.

Can't help with the rear screen, but using the aircon for demisting is usally faster.

Agree with comment about using aircon, takes moisture out of air as well as clearing windscreen quickly.

are all the elements working? more than one may be broken and / or burnt out. if none are broken, because they generate heat through electrical resistance, there may be an issue with the feed and current is low, or voltage is high.

Check that nothing has leaked in the boot or a boot seal leak, wet carpet especially in the car itself will slow down the speed of demisting as all that moisture is always evaporating, i once had a omega and the drain hole for the pollen filter had blocked with leaves causing it to back fill and leak into passenger footwell 3/4" of water under carpet wiring loom completely submerged, only found out by accident when changing footwear and put my foot on the carpet soaking but had demisting problems leading up to that,first thought windscreen seal had gone, Faults arent always what they seem and its great if you find something wrong that can be fixed for free, ha spoken like a true yorkshireman, hope this might help
