Just changed fronts to Uniroyal Rain Sport 2. I've only done about 300 miles since fitting but most of that has been in the rain and they seem pretty good.

I've done about 1k on mine and I'm pleased. Very good in the wet. Hit huge pool of standing water on the M3 at high speed and it didn't hesitate.

i'm in same position, need 4 new ones for the car.
looking at either falken fk452 or toyo proxes t1 sport - had them on the seat leon and was more that happy.

always bought online and then had fitter change as cheaper than he could supply them for.
camskill or blackcircles are the best providers for price and service i have found

which did you go for in the end? as i know you considered changing sizes as well.

I've just replaced all four with Continental Sport Contact 3s sourced from BlackCircles and they seem to be all right.  There might be a tad more tyre noise but the grip is awesome!

I have Kumho Ecsta's on mine (fitted before I bought the car), and they're just about OK but I won't have them again.  They feel a little understeery, even when they aren't pushed hard.  It's possible that my tracking is out a little, but I'm inclined to think it's the tyres.

I had Pirelli Rosso something on my Mondeo, and they were pretty good.  Wifey had Bridgestones on her Mazda 3 and they were horrible - now replaced with Uniroyal Rainsport 2s which are much better.  On my Vectra, Toyo Proxes T1-R were completely brilliant - cheap, grippy, quiet and they lasted well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. DONT GET DUNLOPS !! Mine had them fitted from new and they were rubbish, poor grip in the wet, hopeless when it got cold and noisy.

My Octavia VRS before had them and I had the same problems.

Think they only attach via the valve stem (from seeing them at a tyre change) - your tyre fitters will know. You don't want to replace them - probably costs more than the tyres !!!!!

Anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2?? These get good reviews online.

Tyres on mine are some budget brand.. rediculous in the wet, so need to change them wondering whats the best for wet/dry grip and wear.

Hi all I have been running tracmax tyres on the front of my 2.5 sport. They were on it wnen I bought it and wereovviously the cheapest the salesman could fit to max his cut. Anyway best thing I can say about these tyres is if you want an express route to you nearest a and e these are the ones for you. Just fitted Veredistein sessants at the weekend and they are fab. I was trying them out on Sat night in the rain and had enough grip at the front to start getting over steer. Still one tracmax one the rear which doesn't help....that will be gone next month. So avoid racks, like the plague and embrace veredistien with open arms. Paid 150 fully fitted per side for 225/45-18's. :)

I considered them as I ran them on my Fabia vRS, but since they are £50 a corner more I thought I'd go with the Contis which also get good reviews.

Has anyone come across or used SYRON RACE 1 PLUS tyres?

I've seen a review that compares them to Goodyear Eagle F1's (http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?143749-Tyre-Test-Syron-Race-1) in which they seem to fair quite well, and for £75 a corner I may give them a try.

They seem like good value, but I'm not sure that they should be compared to the Goodyear Eagle F1s, here's the the results of a German tyre test >

braking distances (dry)
Goodyear Eagle F1  :  35.4m
Syron Race 1 Plus   :  37.8m

braking distances (wet)
Goodyear Eagle F1  :  44.1m
Syron Race 1 Plus   :  54.2m

Not sure I'd be comfortable with that wet performance personally
