Bose speakers sound like they have blown?
« on: February 05, 2018, 08:33:02 am »
I have just bought a 2014 sport nav saloon which is a cracking car, love it but only had it 5 days and already problems are arising. The front speakers are fine most of the time but if a song with any kind of decent bass comes on they make a hell of a thumping noise. Doing a bit of research it seems that the speakers are known to de-laminate the cone at the rear? Is this the likely problem or have they both blown? Car only has 30k on the clock and the dealer isnt interested as its outwith 3 year warranty and bought used ????, arguements ongoing but if I can sort myself I will,

Cheers,
Iain

Maybe it has to do with the settings. If that does not work, you will need to upgrade the speakers for your music.

Hi,

Settings have been reset back to default, difficult to upgrade Bose speakers as is but on a 3 year old car its ridiculous if the speakers have went already. Currently won the first round of the battle with the company I bought it off as they have said they will now look at it at least

Had the same problem with my SportNav and they picked it up under warranty when it went in for a service.  Apparently water runs down from the window and gets into the seal of the speaker, separating the seal.  They put a new speaker in the driver's side and were able to reseal the passenger side speaker as it wasn't so bad.

Had the same problem in my 2015 had it booked in with magna mazda Christchurch for a service and other issues, mazda have today agreed to cover as a goodwill gesture =we know the bose speakers are rubbish ????

In my experience some dealers are more helpful than others ????
