Hi all. this is my first post as I usually just read for advice.

I need help before Wednesday 21st Aug when my dead Mazda 6 2.2 sport is dragged to the dealer for this flaming starting issue.

symptoms.

car locks and unlocks with Fobs.
car Unlocks with keyless entry
Red Start button light, Red Key symbol on dash, Immobiliser light on, on dash
Car Dead.

Checked Car Battery, static giving 13.2 Volts
Both Fob batteries changed.
battery removed and engine bay earth checked.
other earth cables removed and rubbed down for good connection.
physical key tried in slot. no change.

Which wheel well is the commonly corroded cable in (not tried that yet)

I know a lot of people have had this problem but there seems to be many possible causes????

Keyless Entry Module???....
Steering Lock Module???....

it is booked in with the recovery pick up and dealer for this Wednesday.

Please someone help before the dealer stiffs me for a lot of money!!!!!!!!! :'(

Sounds like immobiliser malfunction.

if you can try this

Supply starter solenoid with battery volts, I use a short length of wire from battery positive, And it should crank the engine over, Make sure ignition is turned on.
If it cranks over then try on start button
Make sure its out of gear and handbrake on before you start

Let me know how you get on

Steve

Ok

Just try turning car over via small solenoid terminal and battery

According to older posts, if you have checked the earth connection and still there is no result, you may have to replace the keyless start bits. Others have done that at the dealer at a great cost but at least it worked out.

well I have checked all the Earth Cables that I can find.

Someone has said that there is another Earth Cable in a wheel arch? Which One? Does anyone know?

This is gonna cost me a lot I think?

Either gonna be the Key Antenna or the Steering Lock module thingy.

just asking what the fix is for most, or is there something else I could try???

The advice I gave worked for me with same symptoms, It was something to do with the immobiliser receiving a signal to tell it wasn't being stolen....
