2013 engine maintenance
« on: April 14, 2019, 07:52:41 am »
Hi all, I have a 2013 Mazda 6 estate with the 150bhp 2.2ltr deisel engine, since owning it (2016) the engine has been fine, but these days I think it could do with some TLC. In January this year it had a oil and filter change, but I would like to know what other jobs I could do to make sure the engine is running as smoothly as it can. The things I have heard is carbon cleaning? And maybe a remap ? I would like to restore any lossed power.

Any ideas or recommendations would be great.

If you want to keep the engine as stock as possible, just do the oil changes. A remap will expose you to an unknown territory away from the manufacturer settings. If you notice performance loss, then maybe you have carbon built up but it is extremely difficult to get any scientific evidence of that.
