Mazda 6 SE L nav+ 2018 spare wheel
« on: May 20, 2021, 06:35:49 pm »
Hi all,

Hope everyone is well. Looking for a spare wheel for my Mazda 6 SE L nav+ 2018 (petrol 2.0 146HP). The car has 17" alloys, and came with the foam kit - no space saver wheel.

Has anyone tried fitting a full size spare wheel in there?
Any recommendations on what product to get even if it has to be a space saver wheel? I have found some sellers online which suggest certain space savers after you select your car model but still not sure if they would fit in the space below the carpet.

Ideally I would like a full size spare with the same alloys, has anyone tried this? If it can't be done, any suggestions/advice on the space saver would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

A full size wheel will fit into the circular area but it is too high for the floor to sit in its normal position.
The floor is raised up and weakened if heavy objects are to be carried.

Thank you both. I understand 125 is the way to go. I have asked the seller - wheelshop - about the size, they've said it's a 125/70 R17 Linglong branded.
Tall333 I see you've bought a 125/80/ R16. do you guys think then it would be ok to go with the 125/70/R17 as it should fit in terms of the 17" diameter, or search for a 125/80/ R16?

Many thanks for your responses and assistance once again!

Both have the same rolling circumference, and the smaller 16” wheels fitted over the brakes on mine, so I don't see any reason why the 17” would be any problem.
