Steering/Suspension/Brakes / Squeaking brakes
« Last Post by dmhelsby on July 22, 2022, 05:37:09 pm »
I have a 2015 Mazda6 wagon and have had squeaky brake syndrome for over a year now. My garage has cleaned out the pads on 2 occasions which fixes the problem for a while and then I’m back to sounding like a bus each time I brake around town - forwards and reversing. Can anyone help or recommend a brand of replacement pads as I’ve always had genuine Mazda ones fitted?
Thanks
David

Many thanks to Mareng73 for that comprehensive reply.

Crooks , by any other name.
We never had these problems with the Sulzer RD90's , a proper engine !

As long as they were Swiss Sulzers, the Geordie ones had their ways.
But then did you experience a Doxford with common rail fuel system and a few scavenge fires to boot.

Really disappointed to not any help with this. Does anyone know how to get it working again? I know I don’t NEED it but I just hate when things are not working as they should.

Engine/Transmission/Powertrain/Exhaust / Is timing chain replacement required?
« Last Post by KalnzEB on June 06, 2022, 06:09:06 pm »
Hi.
Do I need to start worrying about my Mazda 6 2006 1.8 L813 engine's timing chain potential issues and/or replacement at all? The car is at 110k mileage..
Well at least Mazda's Owners Manual Book does not mention anything about maintenance regarding this matter although it might be controversial in reality.??
Has anyone got any good or bad experience, advice on this? Quite a bit confusing topic this for me at least so want to be sure I'm not missing out something there.

Thanks.
E.

Creaking is front lower suspension arm, could be passenger side or driver side, common problem on this car.

FSH doesn't mean a lot, just they supposedly serviced the car. You don't know what other things they have done to it, or what was missed at a service. As long as the mechanics   tick the boxes nobody  checks to see its been done.  The service advisers are only sales people  and the SM is too busy with spread sheets to worry about what goes on in the w/s.  Sounds like you got one of the early 13's.
Your oil level should not be at full, but halfway between low  and full, to allow for oil dilution filling the sump up with diesel on abortive regens.

Do you have Forscan and an obd reader, this will tell you the code  and give a hint to whats going wrong.

I would say the whole of the air intake system could well be full of carbon  and needs to be cleaned out. They are all in the same area, rhs front corner of the engine  as you are looking at it from the front of the car, you will need to take a few bits off to do that.

Battery, air filter etc. Your fuel filter is behind the battery  if it needs changing also.
Any mechanical parts needing decarbonising can be done by soaking  rich washing up liquid and water, but nothing electrical. It just melts the carbon given a bit of time.
