Mazda 6 2015 spare
« on: July 25, 2016, 05:13:38 pm »
Hi all, I'm new to the site and new to Mazda after a few friends said how good they I purchased one recently a 6 SEL nav D 2015 and very pleased too.

It's a question that's been raised before probably I want to buy a space saver Mazda space saver is rather expensive and I was told its 17" I assume with a low profile type tyre is it ok to use 16" with a taller tyre e.g. from a previous model? Can anyone make any recommendations.

Your owners manual should say what size yours should be, but IMHO it's the rolling circumference that matters.  Try using a tyre size calculator website and find out what the circumference of your existing wheels/tyres are, and match that to a space saver circumference.  Have a read at the following thread, written while I was trying to figure out the same question when I got my car...

Actually the spare has to be a smaller diameter otherwise it will not fit in the wheel well. It needs to be a lot 'thinner' too.
