2.0 D Tuning boxes

Anyone got one or used one on the 2.0D Sport (2009) engine? Safe to use with the dpf?

Save up a little more and get a proper remap instead.
Those tuning boxes are just fooling the engine into conditions it isn't really in which is not going to do it any good in the long run.

Thing with the remap is its a LONG way for me to go get one and then theres the 'removableness' of the box.

Do all boxes just fool the ecu? Even the more expensive ones?

Just one of many articles on the subject.  I had a remap done on my last vehicle (VW transporter) it cost £250 and it drove a lot nicer when done with plenty torque low down in the revs where you need it. 

I'm sure the tuning box will make it drive better but by fooling the ECU into over fueling.  As you know the advantages of the tuning box are it's cheaper and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle.  If you're planning on keeping your car then a remap may be the better option.  I'd get one for my 2.2 if I had the money.

I would'nt bother with a remap on a diesel 6, if the car is every plugged into Mazdas IDS/WDS software for whatever reason any altered files will be rewritten and the ecu will be back to factory spec, this has cropped up a few times now on and it's caused nothing but trouble.
I run a Speedhawk tuning box because of this issue and i'm very happy with the results, no issue with the DPF either.

Well if that is true about Mazda and you use Mazda dealers then tuning box it is.
