2.0 petrol 2006, died and now wont fire!
« on: February 10, 2017, 04:07:22 pm »
Hi all, i have a 2006 2.0 petrol, my girlfriend was driving it the other day, went onto a roundabout and the engine just died, got the AA out to have a look as hes told me its the crank positioning sensor, so i replaced that today, however still the same issue, when starting it turns over and sounds normal, except it doesnt fire up, ive checked fuel pumps still working but havent checked spark, i plan on that in the morning.

The other thing that concerns me is that the clutch was replaced recently, and the AA guy apparently unplugged the crank sensor and plugged it back on and the engine started momentarily, however the girlfriend now mentions that he had his arm down the gearbox end of the engine.... the crank sensor ir at the belt end so i now have no idea what sensor it is hes actually touched that could be causing the problem! please help!
