I've just bought a Zugara
« on: July 26, 2012, 11:29:44 pm »
Hi everybody,

Iv'e just bought a Mazda 6 Zugara, in Velocity Red, and love it. I'm not not new to the Mazda camp, as I had a 323 BJ sport before the 6 and was very impressed with the reliability of the car, but not of of the Rust or Alloy wheel corrosion. My six has a bit of bubbling on the back arches and front wings, that I will sort out. The only problem I have found so far is during playing a CD on the stereo. After approx ten minutes of playing, one bank of speakers ( left or right) will stop working. Any advice on how to fix? It does not happen when playing the radio.

Cheers

Ali

Erm.... that is strange indeed!
Is it normal CD or is it an MP3?
Have you tried a different CD?

Sorry for asking the obvious but it needs doing :)
You laugh because I'm different.... I laugh because I farted!

Normal CDs, I have tried 3 now, all with the same effect. Right or left bank of speakers goes mute after 10 mins. Switch to radio and its OK. Switch off the stereo, for 15  mins, and it works as normal again for 5/10 mins.   Its as if the CD player is overheating and trips one side of the speaker output.

I'm gonna pull it out and give the connection's a quirt of contact cleaner and try and hoover any dust/fluff from the insides.

If that don't help, I'll try the local Mazda garage and USA forums for help/advice.

FYI its a 6 disc changer.
