That sounds extortionate to me. I paid £235 last August for my 2.0L petrol auto 2nd service. You should do what I did and ring around some other Mazda dealers for prices, even if they are not local to you. My nearest dealer was the most expensive but price matched the cheapest quote to get the work.

Your quote of £324 seems very expensive. A massive £89 increase over my last year's cost of £235. Do what I did and contact some other dealers to get check prices, as they do vary. My nearest dealer price matched the cheapest quote.

Managed to get the local dealer to price match another dealer which brought it down to £269 in the end.

I'm glad the negotiations worked for you as well. It's always worth a try as I'm sure dealers don't like turning work away. They still make loads of money.

If you book a main dealer online you save 15%, dont know where I posted this but I am sure I did somewhere on the forum.

Where are you based ?

Typical main dealer rate £120/hour, independents from £30 !! That's all you need to know.

Find one that can access the Mazda digital service record if your car is only a few years old. Mazda can't prevent access and use.

What about the first year cost...

I have just phoned around various local Mazda dealers for a price for the first year service for a 2.2D, and got a huge range.  These are all Mazda dealers, not independents, and are listed on the Mazda website.  I asked what they did and all did the same, except where noted.

I'll not embarrass them by mentioning them by name, but here goes:

Town name starting with D = £190
Town name starting with S = £194
Town name starting with F = £160
Town name starting with P = £164
Town name starting with E = £289 !!! includes free wheel alignment check.

So, I'm heading to F !!

And the 'free' wheel alignment check would have cost you another £40 for them to 'adjust' it!!!
