Back break discs
« on: May 21, 2018, 09:13:24 pm »
ould anyone have any advice on back break disc’s?
I have a 2017 Mazda 6 that was serviced in March for its 12 month service. Only done 10500 miles. 6 weeks later I got a puncture and the repair guy said my disc’s were in a bad way. Brought it back to the dealer and they said it’s wear and tear and they would need changed in another month. Surely this can’t be after only 14 months and 11k miles?? I have attached a picture. Any help appreciated

There is recall for the handbrake. It may be related and the car brakes all the time which affects the discs. You can ask the dealer whether your car is included in the recall.

This recall would not affect your car as it only covers the first versions of the new shape which had a manual handbrake. If yours is a 2017 car, it would have an electronic handbrake. I would contact Mazda direct as the wear in your pictures seems excessive for the age and mileage.

Thanks for this. Yeah my car does have the electronic handbrake. I have sent the pictures and my details to Mazda direct so hopefully they will come back to me soon. I will let you know.
