Suspension Installation Question
« on: November 12, 2013, 09:24:07 pm »
I am looking at installing a set of Eibach lowering springs, but have a quick question about the rear suspension bump stops, it seems that various forums say cut it down and other say do not, this depends on the amount of drop.

So I am after some advice, I am looking at lowering my car on the Eibach Pro-Kit (30mm (1-1.5") drop) is it advisable to cut the bump stop down. I understand that if the drop is excessive the struts can bottom out, but I am unsure what an excessive drop is. Have any members here cut  down the rear bump stops on standard lowering springs.

Are the bump stop available for purchase, as if I cut them down, I may replace the original springs back on at a later date.

I would love to find out if any members have done this and any pointer would be great. This will be the third set that I have installed, but the other two sets have been a complete lowering kit (springs and shocks), so now I have to work a little harder this time

Anyone can point me at the Mazda installation guide, that would be great  :D
