Title: Boot won't close
Post by: Whelp on September 03, 2019, 10:43:17 am
Hi,
Had the car laid up for a while for a few reasons and started it up no problem this morning. While driving away, I noticed the boot lid wasn't closed, but there was no warning light or anything. Simply wouldn't shut.

I disconnected the battery as someone else recommended, but no change. Any ideas?

Thanks

Actually, the warning light does come on, that was incorrect. So probably not some sort of fuse thing, I guess.

It may need to clean up the opening button. This rubber gets destroyed depending on how you push it in and then gradually water comes in and destroys the contact. As a result, the button opens up the lid.

I think if you try some contact cleaner, you may have some progress and if it works, you just need to find the rubber bit to replace it. I suppose this comes all together from a scrap car or something similar to save money.
