Exhaust and surround
« on: April 11, 2014, 10:30:20 pm »
Hi. I have just purchased a 6 sport 2.0 diesel. Their is only one exhaust out one side but I have seen models with one out each side. Can anyone tell me how I'd go about doing this and how much it would cost. Thanks.

An interesting post. Now that you have mentioned it I must admit that a second tailpipe would be nice. I have a single tailpipe also but I am not a big fan of one each side.

I prefer the twin pipe design on the VAG models. I think that would look nice on the 6 Sport.

I couldn't advise on how to do the work but I would get a couple of quotes from Company's who do this sort of work - that way any cutting work should hopefully be done properly and not just hacked away  >:(

The change to a single tailpipe instead of the 'bad boy' twins was due to tightening emission controls and the requirements of DPF etc. You can't just split the pipe and add another like the old design.

"Bad boy" twins......I like it. We call them "Revving Kevin" mods up north  ;D

It makes sense what you say about the emissions. It is a shame though as a subtle manufacturers twin pipe exhaust set up would make the Sport model even Sportier.

Nicer feature on my current 2.2 diesel 180bhp Sport tourer is the rear view mirrors. When the go pedal is pressed, they make objects in the rear view mirror get much smaller very quickly  8)
