Door checkarm failed
« on: July 25, 2013, 04:34:26 am »
The third thing to fail in three weeks of ownership has been the driver's door check arm (also called check strap).
Mazda took a look and quoted £94 fitted.
I took the door panel off quite easily, removed the bass speaker and was able to extract the check arm.
Price of a new part is £32 from Mazda. Saving £62 !
Picture of failed part attached - basically one of the bolts that goes through the door skin had sheared off causing the unit to move about when opening the door.
Hope this is useful.
