Title: Door won't unlock
Post by: ElNevera on July 18, 2017, 12:53:20 pm
Hi All

My 2006 ts2 estate won't unlock the drivers door. No warning or signs of it happening but drove home from work and couldn't get out of the car. It won't unlock using the central locking, internal door lock/handle or using the key outside.
All other locks are fine.

I'm 6'4" so climbing out via the passenger side isn't much fun!

Any ideas?

Cheers

The problem is somewhere in the opening mechanism. There is first generation car on Auto Trader for sale as spares because the door does not open.

I've had the same problem. There is a spring in the locking mechanism that snaps. Common problem.
I had to strip the door inside and out, then work my hand inside to the unlocking mechanism to open the door and put in a new spring. Good as new.
Check it out on You Tube where there are lots of useful videos.
