New owner ts2 spec MPG
« on: October 20, 2014, 09:54:40 am »
Greetings all,

I have bought a mazda 6 2009 petrol ts2 estate in silver, 100k mileage.

Just disappointed with fuel economy, local i expected at least 23 mpg but seems to be getting much less, i'm gonna get it serviced but is there any thing i need to look at here?

thanks

Have a look at Daily Telegraph Honest John real Miles per Gallon web page.
2.0 ltr Mazda Petrols are shown returning something like 36.5 overall.
Up into the 40's on a run.

A service might well help ?

My previous 2004 2.0L Mazda 6 always did at least 27 mpg even when it was over 100k mileage. It normally averaged 30-32mpg and that's with an auto gearbox. There is definitely something wrong with your car. Hopefully a service will resolve your problem.

just got 2006 2.0L Mazda 6 with auto gearbox and like Londoner1 have been keeping a eye on what MPG im getting.

I do daily long runs to work on the A9  Scotland’s longest road.
last week starting with a Full tank of Tesco high Octane Super Unleaded got just under 500 miles trip on the dash said  485 with the trip computer saying like 16 miles remaining, bottle went at that point did not want to try to get it 500 lol had just over 1 litre left at the petrol stations if its true that is a 63 litre tank.

so around 36 is possibility but its a lot down to the driver remember doing long drives with my father in the same car he  would get better MPG then me on the trip back a long the same road
