It seems that my 2007 2.0 litre diesel hatchback may be needing a new power steering pump. My local and trustworthy garage say that the pump is situated behind some covering and driven by the CAMbelt. If so, it's recommended that the cambelt is renewed, which is fair enough. I, however, thought that the power steering pump was situated amongst the mass of pulleys driven by the AUXILIARY belt in which case, less dismantling is required and only the auxiliary belt would need replacing.
Having looked online for videos about replacing said pump, I can only find American videos. These seem to show the pump being auxiliary belt driven and fairly easy to access.
Enlightenment would be appreciated.
