Mazda 6 2010 2.2 Diesel GH oil sump problem
« on: January 25, 2018, 05:04:06 pm »
Hello, I´m new on this Forum (from Finland). I have had problems with Oil Pressure Light coming on suddenly during latest 3000 km. I read from this forum that the oil sump might be dirty.
I had my car in service today, and they found it very dirty, cleaned, changed oil and oil filter. The car has gone now about 141.000 km.

I just wonder, that how long does this cleaning of the oil sump keep the car going? If I understand right the problem is somewhere else  in leaking diesel injectors, which are much more
difficult and money needing to fix.

So, my question is: how often do I have to clean the oil sump to prevent the oil pressure (light) problem?

regards, Rami.

Hello Rami,

If your garage is not knowledgeable, try to find a diesel specialist and ask him to check the injectors. There are plenty of stories online about people DIY the seals. So it is not rocket science. Once you have the injectors maintained, you run into less problems. At the 120,000 km service you should have done that work according to the owner's manual. Just be a bit more careful with the oil changes from now on.

Hi. In the finnish owners manual  I don´t find any injection service at 120.000 km. Maybe Mazda more careful in the UK. There is a checkpoint at 20k, 60k and 120k to adjust the injectors if needed.

I´m now trying to locate a proper Diesel specialist service to do the job.

regars, Rami

I know what you mean. There is a learning process for the injectors that you can do with a piece of cable:

It will be do this thing:

The 120K km is the biggest service for these engines. Maybe something has been lost in the translation of the manual.
