Bubbling alloys yet again.
« on: May 30, 2013, 08:08:14 pm »
What is it with Mazda and alloy wheels? When my 6 was about 2 years old, Mazda changed all 4 wheels under warranty, as they were starting to bubble up.  The car is now four plus years old and as I was washing it yesterday, I noticed that all 4 new wheels are starting to bubble up again. Its a poor show when the wheels only seem to last for 2 years. Ive had other makes of cars with alloy wheels and not had any issues with their wheels. I wash them down regularly in the winter to get the salt off, but to no avail it seems. Other than that, it still one of the best cars Ive ever owned! ::)

I'm possibly buying a used Sport soon and the alloys are on basically good shape but there is some bubbling of the paint - can this be touched up easily? A full refurb/repaint of the wheels would be prohibitively expensive really.
