Title: M6 2015 (facelift) Nav - Infotainment software version
Post by: Choppit on December 13, 2015, 05:16:34 pm
Being an IT type I like to know what version software my stuff is running and what's available, and as I couldn't find the information I wanted on the web here's some information that may be of interest to others.

Mazda 6 2015 (facelift) Nav MZDConnect Infotainment - Received with 51.00.300, now updated to 56.00.230 . I have no idea what's in this release but no issues before/after and no notable functionality changes.

If anyone knows where Mazda publish their versions/release notes or find out about updates, it would be great if you could share.

Thanks

A few brief words as an explanation for the solitary link would be helpful ! ! ! !     As this is only your 2nd posting on the forum, I think you'll soon see, that we tend to try and explain the purpose of such links.

I would also caution members to think carefully before undertaking any "Hack" of their CMU, especially as the information in the link, is not, as requested,  from a genuine Mazda publication.

Infotainment updated to 56.00.513 yesterday to address rebooting (we'll see). Another version due out next week apparently.

Rebooting is still an issue and the dealer says there have been cases where it's been triggered by some USB sticks. I don't doubt this, but it basically comes down to poor software (or possibly also hardware) engineering as USB storage support is very mature in almost all operating systems.

I had the rebooting issue on the Mazda 3 MZD although it is was better with the update it still randomly rebooted but less than before.

Infotainment was updated to 59.00.502 yesterday after a service. Maybe this will fix the reboots..?

What is the most recent version of software and is it possible to update yourself?

59.00.502 is the latest I've found reference to (apparently fixes a security vulnerability related to the USB port). There is no official customer process for updating. Best bet is to specifically ask your dealer to update at next service.

Hi I received my Mazda 6 175 2.2 L estate in January 2018 and the OS version installed is 59.00.504 I have not seen any reboot issues yet, but having had a 2013 version for three years of the same car I find the SAT NAV in the 2018 car to be a big step BACKWARDS compared to the TOMTOM version in the 2013 car the new one does not even know the speed limit for many of the roads where I live so get no speeding warning, plus Mazda tell me they either turn off the speed camera warning system or there is no speed camera data on the map in France (I have had both answers from Mazda).  I also think the quality of the map is no were as good as the TOMTOM, plus I am told once the free updates end Mazda will charge £90.00 a year which is three times the price I was paying for the TOMTOM updates so I will most likely buy a TOMTOM unit and stand it on the dashboard, in fact I would recommend that to anyone thinking of buying the NAV version of this otherwise great car Alan

You can update it yourself Iv done this procedure twice with no problems but do it at your own risk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIGtsaeVftA
