Thanks Bazzamf. There is an earth terminal somewhere under the wing which had some corrosion on it. They have cleaned this up and all seems okay. There was a technical service bulletin issued by Mazda that covers this.
On another note, I noticed you have got rid of the original Dunlops from your car. I now have Uniroyals on the front and Avon on the back and grip is much better.

To be quite honest saddler5, I think anything other than the Dunlop tyre is an improvement. I've had the new tyres on for a couple of weeks now and the driving experience is transformed. Smoother, quieter and more refined.
