Lots Of Questions - Timing gear, dilution reset etc
« on: May 14, 2014, 07:56:58 pm »
I am confused, sorry if this is in the wrong place but finding answers is not easy.....

First, which cars have a timing chain? Mine is a 2009 2.0D Sport - chain or belt?

Next, will an independent garage's fault code reader / EML reset tool reset the dilution ratio after an oil change? The one where it just resets the ecu? Or does it NEED to be done at mazda?

Where is the cabin / pollen filter loacted?

Where is the coolant temp sensor located and is there a way to test it?

I can't say for sure but even though your 2.0D 2009 Sport is the new shape I think they introduced timing chains on the 2.2 models. (If it is a belt, you are a lucky man!) A quick call to your local dealership service department will confirm this.

I suppose it depends on whether the independent has the correct software. The local specialist we have in Kent can do this but he knows his stuff. Do you have an independent Mazda specialist near you?

Is the Pollen filter not located behind the glovebox as per the older models?

Can't help with the coolant temp sensor I'm afraid.
