Any recent buys of 225/55R17 tyres?
« on: November 26, 2016, 11:48:01 am »
I'm looking at replacing all four tyres on my 2.2D SEL-NAV. Would be very interested in feedback from folks on here that might have bought tyres recently.
The manual specifies 225/55R17 97W, anyone gone off-piste?
Also, has anyone tried all-weather/all-season tyres? Personally not convinced that UK weather (OK, south of England) is extreme enough for long enough to warrant winter tyres. There, I've said it  ;D.

I have recently changed all 4 tyres on my Gen 2 sport, I went for Pirelli p zero and have been very pleased with them, very much a quality tyre, I shopped around online and surprisingly found buying online with kwik fit cheaper than anyone else, booked my time slot and just over half an hour later I was on my way, the car handles better and seem good in the wet, if anything they are ever so slightly noisier than the Avon ZZ5 I had on before but I put that down to them probably being a harder wearing tyre,

Cheers, Andy.
I've ruled out winter tyres, and I think I'll also stop thinking about all-seasons and just go with regular tyres with good wet grip.
