I have generally gone through more cars than women lol only joking. Seriously though I have been driving 10 years and had a lot of cars - 2 metro's, mark 3 escort, Renault Clio,vw scirocco, Citroen saxo, Hyundai getz and in that 10 years I had 3 years without a car. Every car Ive had before my 6 didn't really do a lot for me. I guess you get what you pay for but now I have 2 small children I thought stuff I im getting a "DAD" car. I searched and looked at everything from a focus to a Honda civic. Then I was just looking through autotrader and saw a picture of the front of my car. I instantly knew that was the car for me and the next day I went to the garage drove it and brought that exact car. I have never been a poser but in a 6 you just feel comfortable and classy at the same time. My girlfriend has drove it a couple of times but doesn't like the "perves" stairing at her. Good really less chance of her crashing it.

Mine is a lease car and I chose it after the lease was up on my Octy Vrs TDI. I chose it as it was the best equipped, most stylish, and a bit "left field" as our car park resembles an Audi or BMW dealership and who wants to run with the pack ;-)

Had 31 years of company cars. Left the job and needed a car quick. Struggled to find anything that suited my needs. Wasn't really aware of the Mazda6 ! Saw a 2003 model 1.8TS in silver on a dealer forecourt. Impressed with the huge boot - bought it. Ran it from 60,000 to 93,000 miles in just over a year. Nice motorway cruiser, but lacked the noise and 'go' that my Caterham 7 produces  :)

Saw a 2005 2.3 (petrol) Sport in blue with only 17,000 miles after 4 years - bought it on the spot. Almost the same colour as the 7, with a reasonable noise and acceleration. Drove that from 17k to 90k in 2 years.

Got a chance to buy a 5-month old 2.2 (diesel) Sport 180 estate at a silly price in March - fantastic improvement in trim levels over the 2005 model, huge improvement all round. Top car.

We got ours two years ago, 56 plate 2.0 (121)TS diesel. Apart from bulbs and tyres gone through two mots clean. Our only big bill was to replace the upper head gaskets when it got too silly topping up the oil fortnightly. Never had the DPF light on except for the service reminder.
Initially we were looking at a replacement for our beemer 2.8 soft top paddling pool! went great but so did the go juice, a great head turner but with my other half being on the road a lot more fuel, comfort and dry feet became a priority. A 2nd Mondeo was on the list but we were seeing silly prices. The Mazda we were shown had caught our eye but not enough foreknowledge to be pro model.
86K on the clock  :-\  good service history :) good nick all round at £5700 seemed reasonable. The test drive did the trick it may be the base engine but wow it pulled well, very impressive. We got more than expected on the trade in, a new mot and the deal was done.
No regrets. The old system DPF is scary but we've not had to watch the "X" mark ever, it's fast enough to add some points too easily. Hope to meet a newer 2.2 some time when it's needed until then we are happy bunnies.
