I Have the Avon ZZ3's all round and they seem great so far, seem to have some good grip, road noise is good and also the look really great with the tread design, had Bridgestones on the 3MPS I had and the Avons seems much better,

Andy.

Thanks for the recommendations. Avons seem pretty popular.

yes, seems to be the case that most of the options out there are 95XL apart from the Bridgestones, Dunlop Sport, and Falken ZE912 and maybe some Toyos which are 91.

Nothing wrong with fitting the 95XL, I might do it depending on the deals out there, just the tyres will be heavier and ride will be a bit harder with the sidewalls being re-inforced.

Folks - if you don't already use this site http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/ then give them a go

I was running Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tyres until I found this site.  I've just shod my car in Goodyear Vector 4Seasons - and the transformation is astonishing

Enjoy

Hi,

I really have to report my tyre findings as a change of tyre has changed my cars feel completely and very much for the better. My old tyres were Bridgestones not exactly economy stuff and they seemed OK but nothing special, although pretty poor in winter conditions. I now have Avon ZV5 which are absolutely superb, I really can't recommend them highly enough. I expected them to be better in the wet but they are much better in the dry as well, the car has a different feel to it now much more responsive steering. They are quiet too and should last well as treadwear is 300. The Avons are made in England, a bit of British engineering at its best and mid price band at around £75 each.

Went with uniroyal rain sport 2s  in the end. Nice and quiet with good dry grip.

Given the outpouring around Avons, I'll stuff some on my wifes Citroen.

Good choice !!

I have used them with great success on this and previous Mazda6 Sport.

On the last one (2.3 petrol), I removed them after 25k to fit winter tyres, and they were hardly worn !

Great for shifting a lot of water when driving in the wet.

Excellent price and service buying on line from Camskill.

Good to hear the Avon's get good reviews on a Mazda.
My previous car, a highly modified Skoda 4x4 , ran 205/55/16 ZV5's and after 18k were still only half worn, so will be using them on the M6 when it comes round to renewal.
Was suprised by Avon as seem to get overlooked. My previous two cars (Mk2 Octavia VRs and Focus ST2) ran Goodyear F1 Asyms 225/40/18, which were brilliant wet and dry (unless it was icy) but only lasted 15k, no doubt due to a softer compound.
