2015 2.2D 2nd service price
« on: September 12, 2016, 08:03:49 pm »
Today the oil change light flagged on my 2015 2.2D.

16.5K on the clock and ~8K since the last/first service (4K short of the service interval)

Main dealer (Norton Way/Letchworth) quoted £311 for the service (incl. brake fluid replace). Sounds steep, but I don't have any experience of Japanese car servicing costs. Anyone able to comment as to what would be considered "normal" cost?

Thanks

Even if it cost £100, it would be steep for Norton Way Letchworth.

They admitted charging me for a service which they didn't do. They even left a half full bottle of windscreen washer fluid in the car to imply that they had filled it up when i had done it to the brim before i took it in.

They are welcome to sue if they are reading this and i'll produce the apology and compensation letter to prove it. Not once, but twice.

My advice it take it to Harpenden Mazda.

Hi main dealer price about £ 260 for second service my main dealer did it while i had breakfast in a cafe at there expense as they didn't have the auto courtesy car then they took £50 off the service price for the grief i had with tom tom live services total cost to me £198 Just shows main dealers aren't always dearer and but you get the full service record on there computer to back up any problems at a later date. By the way i have the oil and filter changed by them every 6000 miles for my own peace of mind and that way the oil stays healthy and never moves up the dip stick. My model doesn't have the software that tells you when the oils had it but i wouldn't trust it to 12500. Hope this helps but back to the price i think they are asking a bit over the top IMHO.

I have just been quoted £314 by Arnold Clark in Glasgow.

Kwik fit online wants £200, not sure  if I could trust them, seem rather incompetent.

ATS charges £215 but its my responsibility to check if their service won't invalidate the warranty....

Without the service book I don't really know what needs doing and who offers best value..... any recommendations or previous experiences?

Service actually ended up costing £267 on the day, although I'm a little suspicious that the brake fluid change didn't actually happen. I was expecting replacement wheels on the same day and I'd asked for a tyre rotation, but as the wheels hadn't arrived the tyre rotation was left until the the wheels came off for replacement. I could certainly be wrong, but I thought the wheels needed to come off to replace/bleed the brake fluid. I could also just be paranoid after experiences with other (non Mazda) main dealers that didn't carry out the work they said had been completed.

It is not necessary to remove the wheels to do a brake fluid change.
